Feel confident in your smile
A straighter smile can make a meaningful difference, not only to how you feel, but also to the long-term health and function of your teeth.
At Veriam Dental, we provide personalised orthodontic treatment for adults using clear aligners and discreet, tooth-coloured fixed braces. Whether you would like to straighten crowded teeth, close gaps or improve your bite, we will take the time to understand your goals and recommend the treatment option best suited to you.
No two smiles are the same, which is why every orthodontic journey at Veriam Dental begins with a careful assessment of your teeth, gums and bite.
Orthodontic treatment may help to:
Healthy teeth can often be moved at almost any age, making orthodontic treatment an increasingly popular choice for adults.
Clear aligners offer a discreet and flexible way to straighten your teeth. Treatment uses a series of custom-made, transparent aligners to gently guide your teeth towards their planned positions.
The aligners are removable, allowing you to continue eating your favourite foods and maintain your usual brushing and flossing routine. Digital planning also gives you the opportunity to see your proposed result before treatment begins.
Why choose clear aligners?
For treatment to work effectively, your aligners will normally need to be worn for approximately 22 hours each day. Your dentist will explain exactly how and when to wear them as part of your personalised treatment plan.
Tooth-coloured fixed braces provide the reliability and precision of a traditional fixed brace with a more discreet appearance.
Small, tooth-coloured brackets are carefully attached to the front of your teeth and connected by a wire. Because the brace remains in place throughout treatment, it works continuously to gradually move your teeth into their planned positions.
Why choose tooth-coloured fixed braces?
Fixed braces require careful cleaning around the brackets and wires, and certain hard, sticky or chewy foods will need to be avoided during treatment. We will show you how to care for your teeth and brace so you can keep your smile healthy throughout your journey.
Your journey begins with a relaxed consultation where we will listen to your concerns, examine your smile and discuss what you would like to achieve.
We will explain the options that may be suitable for you and give you the opportunity to ask any questions before deciding whether you would like to continue.
If you choose to explore treatment further, we will gather detailed information about your teeth and bite. This may include:
These records allow us to plan your treatment carefully and determine the most appropriate way to achieve your desired result.
Following your assessment, you will receive a personalised treatment plan explaining:
We want you to feel fully informed and comfortable, so you will have plenty of time to consider your options and ask questions before beginning treatment.
Once treatment begins, you will attend regular review appointments so we can monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments.
Appointments are generally required every six to ten weeks, depending on your chosen treatment and how your teeth are progressing.
Most orthodontic treatments take between six and eighteen months, although more complex cases may require longer. We will give you a personal timescale once your assessment and treatment planning are complete.
When your teeth have reached their planned positions, your brace will be removed or you will complete your final set of aligners.
We may take final photographs to record your results, and professional tooth whitening may also be included within selected treatment plans where clinically appropriate.
You will then move into the retention stage to help protect your newly straightened smile.
Retainers are an essential part of every orthodontic journey. Teeth naturally have a tendency to move after treatment, particularly during the first few months, so wearing your retainers as advised will help maintain their new positions.
Depending on your individual needs, we may recommend:
We will explain how to care for and wear your retainers so you can enjoy your new smile for years to come.

You may notice some pressure or mild discomfort for a few days after your brace is adjusted or when changing to a new aligner. This is completely normal and should settle quickly as your mouth adjusts.
There is no fixed upper age limit for orthodontic treatment. Provided your teeth and gums are healthy, it may be possible to straighten your teeth at almost any age.
Many orthodontic treatments take between six and eighteen months. Your personal timescale will depend on the type and complexity of tooth movement required.
Review appointments are usually arranged every four to ten weeks, although this will depend on your treatment and how your teeth are progressing.
Yes. Retainers help to prevent your teeth moving back towards their original positions once treatment is complete. Your dentist will explain how often your retainers should be worn and how to care for them.
Clear aligners and tooth-coloured fixed braces each offer different benefits. The most suitable option will depend on your teeth, the movement required and your personal preferences. Following a full assessment, we will explain your options and make an individual recommendation.
We understand that choosing to straighten your teeth is a personal decision. From your first conversation to your final retainers, our experienced team will be here to provide clear guidance, considered treatment and genuine care at every stage.
